40 Years and Counting

Soon after establishing WPS as Contract Electronics Manufacturers 40 years ago, there began a wholesale shift in purchasing trends, as buyers took advantage of the promise of largescale cost savings in the Far East. Nick and Tim took the conscious decision not to get swept up in this trend and decided instead to focus on giving the best possible service to those companies who, for a variety of reasons, preferred to keep their sourcing in the UK.
Looking back, this has probably been one of the most significant decisions they have ever made and has left them with a stable and successful operation providing the highest quality, most flexible and agile production facilities that only a family run enterprise can provide.
Now operating 2 factory sites with 5 surface mount lines capable of placing almost a quarter of a million components per hour and catering for oversize PCBs, as well as fully automated through-hole assembly lines, odd-form assembly equipment, full support services including selective soldering 3D AOI, automated conformal coating, resin encapsulation, test and also a fully utilised IPC certified hand assembly team.
